These picture were taken on the colorful festival of Holi.
The festival of Holi is celebrated on the day after the full moon in early March every year.
It is also called the Festival of Colours.
On this day people Throw colors at each other.
This festival occurs at the onset of spring.
It is India’s most celebrated festival along with Diwali.”
If you have never been to India, photographer Poras Chaudhary can show you the way to its heart. I have just discovered his photos and am blown away by the beauty and color that fill each frame. Many of the photos shown here are a documentation of Holi, also called the Festival of Colors, a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India, Nepal,Bangladesh. During this holiday everyone is suppose to wear white and throw themselves in colored powder which dies their clothes, skin and anything it touches. Note to self : best vacation to take your kids on!
Despite the lack of opportunities and the restrictions of a small village Poras Chaudhary, found a way to touch the world, when he started taking photographs in 2005. Documenting his life in Kurukshetra, the northern part of India, he brought us images of a culture full of color and tradition.
